visit to Apiery on Saturday

Dear bee friends
Richi kindly agreed to give us the opportunity to visit Tullaherin we should go ahead with the vist (Hopefully the weather will be kind enough)
***location edited out***
*But I must emphasise that good protection is essential as we are now in the “June gap”and there is a dearth of forage for the bees, naturally they get cross during this period. I don’t want to be alarmist but it would be irresponsible to allow anyone near hives without adequate cover. Perhaps the beekeepers in the group could bring along any spare gear they may have. Don’t hesitate to contact me if there are any queries.

Please let us know if you need protective gear their might be some spare but only with gear you are allowed near the hives that's it!

could someone write a summary / take some photos?

Unfortunately I can't make it but if anyone attending would be willing to write even a brief description of what you did and/or take a few photos, we could post them up on this website.

Thanks!

Our visit to Richards Aipery

Our visit to Richards Aipery was kindly supported by pleasant sunshine.
And also Richards expertise and experience was shining for us.
Richard is clearly a thinker and practitioner outside the box!
We, who are mostly "fresh" to bee-keeping, and had been encouraged by Michael Weilers workshop; could see first hand beehives converted to suit the bee's natural comb-building activity which was of great interests. Also some other approaches of Richi are eye-openers and food for thought.
It was a lovely afternoon, with very beneficial technical know how transfer.
I hope that we might get more opportunity's to follow the development in Richi's Aipery, at least until we have found enough grounding and expertise thanks to the kindness and guidance of Riche.

I think for all who are interested in natural bee-keeping a visit to Richis Aipery is a must. even more so for the novice bee-enthusiast.
A big thank you to Richi, for sharing his parctical knowledge.
Hope we will have more opportunities to come to this "well"

Kind regards
Michael Miklis
